Integrating Genetic Risk Assessment for General Dentistry

Event Details

Imagine a test that could determine for every patient in your office if they are high risk for caries and periodontal disease. With two of the most omnipresent diseases in our offices, imagine how such a test could guide your decision making in both prevention and treatment. In this webinar, learn how a one-time only genetic test, with a swipe of saliva, can give you the risk factors for every patient in your practice. We will explore the science behind the test and learn how advances in genetics have made it possible to assess such risks in patients. With this understanding, we will then take a look at how this type of assessment tool can effectively help to guide both treatment planning and treatment outcomes.

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

  1. Understand the science behind genetic testing
  2. Establish a better understanding of the role of genetics in oral health
  3. Confidently initiate a conversation about genetic testing with your clients/patients
  4. How this can drive growth in your offices
  5. Expand upon current prevention protocols for high-risk patients and how such testing could impact treatment planning
